ICPIC 2025: REVERSE Shows Early Success in IPC Implementation

ICPIC 2025 Wrap-up

The REVERSE consortium made a strong impact at ICPIC 2025, presenting initial findings from its hybrid Type 2 effectiveness-implementation trial across 24 European hospitals.

The main poster confirmed that the tailored approach works: sites achieved a median of three new SOPs, with 77% improving Hand Hygiene (HH) scores and successfully increasing pathogen Active Surveillance (AS)

Individual presentations showcased both challenges and innovative solutions, including data confirming a significant rise in CRPA and VRE resistance rates in Switzerland, and a successful intervention using point-of-care glove dispensers to both cut glove waste and improve HH compliance.
