Antimicrobial Resistance – High-Level Conference Announced for Zurich

The REVERSE Project is proud to announce its final international conference, taking place in the historic city of Zurich, Switzerland, from 20 - 21 November 2026.

Under the theme "Antimicrobial Resistance - Results from the REVERSE Approach and the Road Ahead," this event serves as the cross-disciplinary platform for sharing the culmination of the project’s multi-year, pan-European research. The conference is designed specifically for clinical researchers, microbiologists, hospital administrators, and policymakers dedicated to the future of antimicrobial stewardship (AMS).

From Data to Action: The Scientific Programme

The REVERSE approach is unique in its breadth, and the conference programme reflects this by moving beyond traditional surveillance to offer a holistic view of AMR intervention. Attendees will gain exclusive insights into:

  • Clinical Outcomes: High-level results from our multi-centre clinical trial, evaluating the efficacy of specific AMS interventions in reducing the burden of multi-drug resistant organisms.
  • Implementation Science: A deep dive into the ‘how’ of stewardship - identifying the behavioural and organisational factors that determine whether an intervention succeeds or fails in a real-world hospital setting.
  • Economic Sustainability: Rigorous cost-effectiveness analyses that provide the necessary evidence for hospital boards and national health ministries to invest in long-term AMS frameworks.

Bridging the Gap: The Policy & Sustainability Panels

Recognising that scientific data alone cannot solve the AMR crisis, a core pillar of the Zurich conference are the high-level policy panel discussions. These sessions feature distinguished international experts and European policymakers in moderated panel discussions.

These dialogues will focus on the "Road Ahead" - specifically, how the results of the REVERSE approach can be integrated into national action plans and how we can ensure the financial and operational sustainability of stewardship programmes across diverse healthcare systems.

Why Join Us in Zurich?

The REVERSE Conference is more than a dissemination event; it is a strategic gathering of the infectious disease and AMR ecosystem.

  • CME Accreditation: The programme will be accredited (SSI/SGInf and EACCME), allowing medical professionals to claim either (Swiss) national or internationally recognised European CME credits (ECMECs).
  • Multidisciplinary Networking: Connect with the REVERSE consortium, national focal points, and leading experts from across the continent.
  • Strategic Vision: Be among the first to see the final project recommendations that will shape future European stewardship guidelines.
